I have been very pleased with the simplicity of the setup and use of the KVM switch. The switch is small (3" x 2.5" x 1") and it has the KVM cables and remote switch dangling from it. With it small size and remote switch, I was able to reduce the desk clutter by having the KVM sandwich between the desk and the wall. The only real downside is the first KVM switch sent was defective. There is some artifacts on the screen with one of my computers when using the KVM but not the other. This doesn't bother me for what I use the computer for but I wouldn't recommend it for image editing, CAD, etc.I've used the KVM 5 days a week for the past 2 months and never had any issues with the USB not working correctly. I use a basic mouse and keyboard, nothing special. Overall, I'd recommend it and I would buy it again. On the HP Laptop, I have used a Displayport to HDMI converter from Monster Cable.The purpose for purchasing this product was to simply be able to use one set of keyboard and mouse and having to avoid switching between input screens on the monitor each time I wanted to work on the other computer. The product has performed extremely well for the main purpose of my purchase. In fact, some reviews suggest that their wireless keyboard and mouse did not perform well. I can safely say my Logitech keyboard and mouse work perfectly well. I plugged in just one Logitech unifying wireless receiver on the KVM and both Mouse and Keyboard work fine with that setup.
