I purchased the PWR+ USB 2.0 Extra Portable Slim 24x CD/RW CDRW CD�RW CD-ROM CDRW CD Writer Burner External Portable Optical Drive. My PowerBook G4's CD-ROM drive broke. It cost more for me to repair it than it was to to purchase an external CD-ROM drive. I loaded the software and then It was as if I had a new computer...I'd recommend this CD-ROM drive to Mac user.

My CD drive jammed on my circa 2007 macbook. I really like to load purchased CDs onto itunes and burn cds for my car and for friends. After researching a few external CDr's this one seemed good enough for the price. I took it home, plugged it into the macbook's usb drive, which provided both power and connection, and without any installation at all I was all set to load cd's into iTunes and burn cds. Both tasks were performed relatively quick. I played the burned CD on my stereo systema and everything checks out. Assuming it doesn't break down anytime in the near future, this seems to be spot on, and you cant beat the price.
