No Stand. I have other ASUS external DVD-RWs and they came with a stand and there is a notch on the back of the DVD-RW drive to attach the stand to it. No Notch on this one. Other than the stand, I'm happy with it. It's not worth sending back. However, I'm not ordering any more. I'd suggest getting one at Fry's Electronics (Current cost $39 - $10 {02/09/2012 - 02/29/2012} rebate = $29) - so far those come with a stand. It's a nice option to have. It's the reason I started buying these in the first place. One comment about the Fry's Rebate is that what you end up with is an American Express Gift Card/Credit Card for $10 - Not a check. Last on my list is how noisy it is -- most drives are noisy anyway, and the differences are minimal.This drive from Asus is perfect for me. Why? It works great (nd I've had no problem with a single connector, though I do use the Y cable). It looks great, too. I'd probably prefer the vertical one with the stand, but this was less expensive, and the space it takes up isn't terribly big. Best of all? The rebate. So this cost me $22. Cannot beat that, period. Buy, buy, buy. |
