I was hesitant at first to buy this particular unit but decided to anyway. I am so happy that I did. It was very easy to install and it looks great and works great! I use the buttons to switch between CPU's and it is quick. About 1 second. I move a lot of info back and forth and usually have to move the flash drive from one to another. With the 2 downstream USB ports, I just plug it in and can see if from any of the three. Still finding new things everyday. I highly recommend this unit!! It's SELF POWERED which is good, because it does not put a load on your usb port to power itself. My last KVM switch loaded my computers PS2 port and one of my computers had trouble booting because of that. Now the same computer boots reliably each time. All the cable connections are in the back, so you don't have to look at your video cable sticking out of the front of the unit. The unit has a nice look and is stackable. The bad: One my unit, the keyboard and mouse usb outputs do not work reliably. One time they work, but the next day they don't. I keep finding myself removing the wires and putting them in the generic USB ports instead. There my keyboard and mouse work fine. Highlights: a) Fast switching via push-button or hot-keys. b) Individual AC power source (not USB powered) c) Doesn't "crash", very reliable. d) Two additional USB ports. My only complaints: a) It's a little bigger/bulkier than other switches I've used. b) The hot-keys are not customizeable. I highly recommend this switch for all applications. |
